Owatonna High School is a progressive learning community, creating critical thinkers prepared for life.  As such, our academic offerings include over 200 required and elective courses designed to stimulate growth for our students.  These courses include eighteen Advanced Placement offerings, ten music courses and Top Team School-to-Work apprenticeship opportunities, as well as a plethora of elective courses in the areas of agriculture, business, computer science, family and consumer science, technology and world language.

Approximately 1700 students are served by 185 staff members daily at Owatonna High School, which utilizes a modified four-block schedule.  To complement and support the intellectual, social and emotional growth of our students, we offer them the opportunity to participate in drama and music productions, band, choir and orchestra, speech, academic competitions, Mock Trial and school newspaper and yearbook.  In addition, the athletic program offers twelve interscholastic sports for boys and twelve for girls, as well as one co-ed adaptive floor hockey program.

Historically and symbolically, Owatonna High School stands at the center of the Owatonna community.  Renovations to our building indicate the communities’ desire to provide learning facilities that meet the educational needs for learners of all ages.
