Construction Projects On Time and On Budget!
Thanks to the community's support of the 2015 referendum, much has been accomplished to improve our elementary and middle schools in the past few years. The grand opening celebrations at McKinley Elementary and Owatonna Middle School last October were a big hit - and the students and staff love their new spaces.

Some recent construction highlights:
  • Lincoln and Washington Elementary schools both have new, larger gyms and classroom additions that are now open! Both buildings now have permanent music and art classrooms to replace the portable buildings where these classes were previously being held.
Things to watch for this spring and summer:
  • Final landscaping at Lincoln and Washington.
  • Renovations for the kitchen/serving area, classroom cabinets, and lockers at Washington.
  • Deferred maintenance for accessibility, mechanical and electrical upgrades at Wilson.
  • Final phase of deferred maintenance for mechanical upgrades at Owatonna Middle School, including the existing classrooms and pool/gym areas.
  • Renovations at the Owatonna Education Center to add a sprinkler system.
The majority of the referendum-funded work will be complete by the start of school in September 2018.
